“Atomiyosowaka アトミヨソワカ”: A Hidden Vegan & Gluten-free Cafe in Tokyo

Today I’d like to share Atomiyosowaka Kuramae(アトミヨソワカ 蔵前), a hidden gem in Tokyo I dropped by a couple of days ago.
It mainly offers vegan-friendly & gluten-free pastries with rice flour.

Vibe
After a 10-minute walk from Asakusa-bashi Station (Kramae, Tokyo), you’ll find Atomiyosowaka Kuramae tucked away in a quiet street.

Stepping inside, my first impression was…

…what a lovely sanctuary!

All pastries and meals are plant-based and gluten-free, crafted with local and natural ingredients such as domestic rice flour, okara (=tofu pulp) from domestic soybeans, and homemade apple yeasts.

Meal & Pastries
Today I ordered a lunch plate with carrot spice bread.

Looks absolutely nourishing!
Every dish on the plate tasted awesome… but particularly, the first bite of the carrot bread blew my mind. Hearty, gooey, and flavorful! Not too sweet, but not too plain.
I got so obsessed with the carrot … that I ordered another loaf to enjoy at home the next morning.

Eating here reminded me of the “gezellig(≒cozy, warm, and intimate atmosphere in Dutch)” memories at vegan cafes in the Netherlands 🙂
People & Warm Tales

What moved me most was this: their sweets aren’t just made to taste good—they’re also made to bring joy to the people who create them.
Rather than highlighting this partnership as a form of charity, the cafe simply focuses on quality—because these are sweets chosen not out of sympathy, but because they’re genuinely good.
With carefully selected ingredients and a deep respect for the process, each treat is made with care, pride, and the belief that good food should be judged by its authentic taste, not by who made it.

A Warm Moment to Take Home

When leaving the cafe, I felt utterly nourished and recharged.
I would highly recommend this hidden gem for those looking for a gentle, home-like atmosphere and nourishing plant-based & gluten-free food with love.

Your words make my day!
